Petroleum jelly and synthetic fillers aren't dangerous, they're just not doing much for you either — they sit on top of skin instead of feeding it. The tallow, salve, and deodorant carry exactly one wild-harvested botanical, sweet birch (Betula lenta), because it earns its place in a leave-on product. The soap doesn't carry it: a bar that rinses off in fifteen seconds never gives birch the chance to do anything, so there was no reason to add it. No job, no ingredient — which is why the soap ends up completely unscented, not because we set out to make it that way, but because that's what's left once every ingredient has to earn its place.
